Spring Detox

9-13 May 2022

After a long winter, looking for a new start, a thorough body and mind cleanse and ways of creating new long-lasting healthy habits and an authentic lifestyle.

Join our five-day detox and destress program.

Join our five-day on-line detox program where, together with a supportive and fun group, we will be providing our bodies clean and seasonal food based on inspirational recipes. You will gain in energy, improve your digestive system and immunity as well as the glow of your skin.

During the detox, we will remove industrialized, toxic and allergenic foods and instead base our food intake on vegetarian products, including vegetables, fruits and berries high in antioxidants, nuts and seeds, lentils, sprouts, algae as well as nutritious cold pressed oils, alongside delicious herbal cleansing teas, birch sap, kombucha, and kefir.

Marika Hofmeister, certified nutritionist and naturopath, will prepare, guide and accompany you throughout the detox. The overarching team will be on creating new healthy habits, thus gaining in energy, focus and overall satisfaction in life.

Preparing for detox is key, as is the coming back to a “new normal”, crucial for a smooth detox where you can really feel the benefits and avoid or reduce withdrawal symptoms. Six days before starting the detox, we will be preparing, progressively eliminating stimulants, alcohol, cigarettes, red meat, fried foods, refined sugars and in general all processed and industrialized products, then white meats, fish, then eggs, then dairy products etc. After the detox we will take another six days to reintegrate some of the products again finding a healthy and long-lasting balance. Throughout the detox, you will learn how to make better choices for you and family in a durable way.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Sunday 1 May 2021 at 19.30 pm (CET) – One-hour preparatory session

Marika will go through the program and its benefits and provide you with the information you need to prepare physically and mentally for a good detox. This will include authentic food to purchase prior to the detox program. She will explain how to eliminate coffee, alcohol and sugar and gradually eat less during the week that precedes the detox period and how to come back to healthier habits once the detox is over. As a crucial part of detoxing, she will prepare you for changes that may occur in our bodies during the fasting, while eliminating toxins, and how to prevent and alleviate symptoms. The importance of the digestive system, at the very base of our immunity and overall health will also be discussed in more detail.

Monday 9th to Friday 13th May – 20 min touch base every evening at 19.30 (CET)

During the five actual detox days we will have a check-in every evening for questions and sharing of experiences. Each day Marika will provide food recipes for delicious and nutrition food alongside guidance on different ways to help your body in its detox process. Focus will be on your wellbeing and on how to be successful in creating new habits.

A WhatsApp group will also be set up where participants can share experiences and ask questions. Participants can also write individually to Marika via WhatsApp for any specific questions.

Andrea Paola Martinez: Yoga was first introduced to Andrea Paola in her pre-teen years by her mentor and aunt- a Buddhist, yogini and yoga instructor- with whom she made her first trip to India and Thailand when she was 13.  Andrea Paola became fascinated by the healing and transformative capacities of contemplative therapies, and chose to integrate this into her studies of medicine/psychology. She received her yoga teacher training in Hatha yoga, and loves teaching and sharing the experience of pranayama (breath exercises), meditation and the deep calm that arises from the unity of mind, body and breath during each asana. In her own practice, she often integrates aspects of ashtanga and vinyasa, as she loves this alternate access to the interior via a more dynamic, playful and athletic movement. It is also a wonderful compliment to her other life's passion: rock climbing.
