Mono Diet on Monday 24th and 25th of January 2022

A mono diet consists of consuming a single food item during the day. Mono dieting is a good way to get back on track after indulging during the festive season. It will help to get rid of cravings and perhaps make a habit out of mono dieting or intermittent fasting on a regular basis. We suggest doing a two-day mono dieting together to get us going and to motivate each other to get back to healthier habits.

The idea is to choose one healthy product that you like, preferably seasonal, and eat only this product throughout the day, for example apples. Mono dieting will give your digestive enzymes a break and enable your body to take care of other cleansing and healing tasks, which will help you gain energy. 

Marika Hofmeister, certified nutritionist and naturopath and founder of Roots of a Nomad will guide you through the benefits of mono-dieting and intermittent fasting and how to go about it. 

There will be:

  • 30 min preparatory session on Thursday 20 January at 7.30 p.m. CET
  • 15 min morning touch bases on Monday 24th  and Tuesday 25th of January at 8 a.m. CET.

Andrea Paola will provide 30-minute detox yoga sessions both mornings, on the 24th and 25th of January at 8.15 a.m.

All sessions will be recorded, and participants will have access to them at any time until end February.

A WhatsApp group will be set up and Marika will guide you throughout the two days and answer any mono diet related question you would have. The group is also there for exchange of information and support among participants.

Marika Hofmeister, naturopath, nutritionist and anthropologist, proposes her own holistic approach to health, based on cultural sensitivity and natural remedies to support the body’s own healing. She is specialized in traditional medicine and phytotherapy (plants and essential oils).  She is the founder of Roots of a Nomad and has recently launched a new approach with ethnotherapy.

Andrea Paola Martinez: Yoga was first introduced to Andrea Paola in her pre-teen years by her mentor and aunt- a Buddhist, yogini and yoga instructor- with whom she made her first trip to India and Thailand when she was 13.  Andrea Paola became fascinated by the healing and transformative capacities of contemplative therapies, and chose to integrate this into her studies of medicine/psychology. She received her yoga teacher training in Hatha yoga, and loves teaching and sharing the experience of pranayama (breath exercises), meditation and the deep calm that arises from the unity of mind, body and breath during each asana.In her own practice, she often integrates aspects of ashtanga and vinyasa, as she loves this alternate access to the interior via a more dynamic, playful and athletic movement. It is also a wonderful compliment to her other life's passion: rock climbing.
